Slovenian/Croatian Tasting

Located in central Europe, east of Italy, Slovenia and Croatia are neighboring countries that border the Adriatic Sea.

Wine has been produced in this region for over 2,500 years. The area produces numerous grape varietals, including Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Plavac Mali, a Confectionery favorite.

Red Tail Ridge is a family-owned winery in the Northwest Seneca Lake area of the Finger Lakes. They are the first winery in New York State to receive LEED gold certification for their efforts in sustainable farming.

While the bulk of Red Tail Ridge’s production is Riesling, the winemakers have had success in experimenting with small plots of Blaufränkisch.
